Heavy and luxurious, this gorgeous 15" French solid 18k specialty chain features a beautiful, buttery old gold luster crafted into long navette links with interior swirling filigree work. It weighs in at a respectable 14.9 g and will feel simply decadent draped across your collar bone. Versatile and unique, we love how antique watch chains can be repurposed as modern day necklaces or worn as double wrapped bracelets. As the chain is substantial, the links remain in sturdy condition but avoid any abrupt tugs to keep the connecting links in good shape. As with any piece of antique jewelry, it will need to be treated with a certain level of care. The chain was likely cut down from a larger chain and is no long hallmarked but has been acid tested in multiple places for 18k gold and the purity has been confirmed with a respected auction house. With a length of 15", it hugs the neckline closely, as pictured in photo nine. The bolt ring and dog clip clasps are both replacements which are in excellent condition. They are a slightly rosier color than the rest of the chain, visible in photos. I've left the lovely antique patina for you to enjoy. It would be a great addition to any chain collection, or a great staple piece if you are just starting out.
