18K Art Deco White Spinel Post Earrings c. 1930
18K Art Deco White Spinel Post Earrings c. 1930
These classic and timeless earrings are crafted from high quality 18k white gold, featuring a central round-cut gemstone in an illusion setting. From the Art Deco period, crafted around 1930, they are an excellent example of the craftsmanship of the era. The stones themselves are cut from white spinel, a diamond substitute. The stones measure approximately 4.25 mm across, for a carat weight of around .25 carats. They originally had a screw back closure, but the screw backs were traded out for more common push backs. Commanding attention, these beautiful earrings are not only a versatile ornament for everyday wear, they are a piece of history which has been passed carefully through the ages.
