18K Edwardian Navette Cluster Ring with Seed Pearls, Pierced Gallery, and Sapphire Paste

Crafted from high quality 18k gold inlaid with eighteen seed pearls which surround a sapphire paste cabochon, this timeless and versatile ring would make a lovely addition to any collection. Feminine and chic, the details to the gallery are stunning; a delicate, lacy hand-pierced border surrounds the central navette. The split shank band is adorned with accent pearls on either side of the shoulders which gently slope into a straight band which is an accessible size FR 54/US 7. The cabochon has normal wear and scratches to the surface as it is not a sapphire but paste, a type of leaded glass that was often used as a gem substitute into the 20th century. As you can see from photos and videos, the ring still has a lovely luminous glow and shines beautifully in the light. A rare and beautiful piece that is exemplary of the craftsmanship and skill of the period.
