18k Flat Cut Foiled Garnet and Pearl Cluster Ring, late Georgian to Victorian Antique French 18k Gold Ring

18k Flat Cut Foiled Garnet and Pearl Cluster Ring, late Georgian to Victorian Antique French 18k Gold Ring

This beautiful ring is an antique piece featuring purple flat cut garnets with foil backing and a central pearl. Foil backing was used in the Georgian period to help darker stone shine more brightly and add depth as cutting techniques were not as advanced. The shoulders here are just breathtaking with a stunning bow and flower design, crafted from high carat gold. The ring does not have a hallmark as it was likely resized at some point it its long history, but has been professionally acid tested for minimum 18k gold purity. The ring is in excellent condition with one chip the bottom garnet under magnification, consistent with age. Delicate and refined, it makes a gorgeous stackable ring.
