This meticulously worked religious medal becomes more beautiful with each detail. It features 18k yellow and green gold, which has been applied as a textured garland which create a wreath around the Virgin in profile. She is draped in a delicate veil and a halo adorns her head.. The back of the medal is blank for room to commemorate a baptism or communion. It is always impressive to see how a goldsmith was able to craft such a delicate portrait and so many numerous details in such a small space without modern tools. This medal is in excellent antique condition with only light micro-scratches to the gold. It has many years of wear left if treated with care.
