18K Perpignan Garnet Clover Ring c. 1900

18K Perpignan Garnet Clover Ring c. 1900

This lovely little ring features a lucky clover design, a timeless symbol of good fortune. Each of the three juicy red garnets is rose cut and foil backed to accentuate their deep red appearance. French Catalan Perpignan garnets embody a rich history with jewels often passed down from mother to daughter and kept within families. Nowadays there are less and less skilled artisans keeping this regional tradition alive which dates back centuries. The ring is hallmarked with an eagle head, guaranteeing at least 18k gold purity. Each garnet measures an impressive 6 mm.

CONDITION NOTES:
In very good antique condition, there are subtle traces of use to the gold but the ring has many yeasrs of life and wear left. Be mindful not to keep the ring on when washing hands or showering as this will damage the delicate foil backing.
