18K RUBY Clover Heart Locket, Antique French Sentimental Edwardian Locket c. 1900

Less is more with this discreet and darling small heart locket. Featuring a smooth front and reverse crafted from shiny 18k gold, the locket is embedded with three old single cut rubies which form a clover. The clover has long been a symbol of good luck, bringing peace and prosperity to the wearer. The interior of the locket carries two vintage photos of a mother and father, one of which has been shielded with a rather charming mother-of-pearl insert. Of course this can be replaced with more recent photos or left empty. The locket has some light signs of wear, consistent with age, including some denting to the front and reverse. It wasn't required by French law to hallmark pieces which weigh less than three grams, so this one does not have a hallmark visible, but was purchased from a reputable auction house and verified by an acid test as 18k gold. It closes well and has a strong bail and attachment so you won't risk losing this special piece.
