18k Solid Gold Floral Locket with Seed Pearls, Antique French Belle Epoque Sentimental Jewelry with Hinged Glass Partition

This lovely Victorian locket features an applied forget-me-not floral design which is embedded with seed pearls. Pearls have long been symbolic for purity and wisdom but due to their delicate nature they are often lost to time. This locket must have been kept preciously then as all of the pearls appear to be original. The flower is laid over an engine turned textured background and the contrast adds nice interest to the piece. The inside of the locket has a thick beveled cut glass partition which stays perfectly in place on the side to protect a photo, piece of lace, pressed flower, or other memory. A four leaf clover has been inserted by a previous owner if you prefer to carry the luck of the ages. The locket closes securely with a satisfying "click" . The locket has light wear consistent with age and use; there is light interior tarnish which we've kept to make features stand out. The bail has also been worn with time, visible in photos seven, and the frame around the flower is lightly dented. All defects are minor and there is nothing to take away the charm of this original piece of history.
