18K Solid Gold Lily of the Valley French Edwardian/Belle Epoque Brooch with seed pearls c. 1900
This spectacular floral spray brooch was crafted at the end of the Victorian period from 18K solid gold and over fifty seed pearls. It is quite remarkable that all seed pearls have stood the test of time, a testament to the craftsmanship of the maker and the care of the previous owners that it has weathered the years so gracefully. Sturdy and detailed, the brooch weighs almost ten grams and features a Lily of the Valley floral spray. Lily of the Valley represented a "return to happiness" as the flowers bloom in early Spring. It is a fine example of Victorian craftsmanship and would look stunning on a blazer, or as an extender for chains if worn as a pendant. Just a word of caution; it has the original "c-clasp" which does not contain an safety mechanism. It is the perfect unexpected element to add a touch of class and charm to any outfit.
