Bringing all the luck of the ages, this late Victorian horseshoe locket is full of chunky charm. The interior features an extra thick beveled glass partition which can be secured against both sides of the locket to protect a photo or special memory. The horse shoe shape is further enhanced by an applied horseshoe motif which is attached securely with screws to the interior of the pendant, while the blank reverse can be personalized or engraved to commemorate a special event. The horseshoe applique has a light fissure to the interior, visible in photos and consistent with age and wear, that does not affect the stability of the piece. I love the little embellishments the pieces has to offer, such as the horseshoe nails which appear on the horseshoe as as well as on the pendant locket. The piece opens from the bottom and closes with a satisfying snap. There is light denting from the ages, visible in photos and videos, but nothing to take away from the charm of this lovely piece.
