37" 18K Solid Gold Belle Epoque Half Guard Chain with Hanging Bolt Ring c. 1880

This gorgeous, heavy and sumptuous chain was crafted in the early 1900s in France. It bears eagle head hallmarks and a rhino, guaranteeing at least 18K gold purity. Beautifully constructed, it reminds me of little tulips. The chain is a true work of art with each little piece being twisted, textured, and soldered together to create this unique and singular piece. The only thing more glamorous than one string of solid French gold is two strands of French gold chains draped elegantly around your neck. The chain is in excellent condition for age. The links are solid and the dog clip clasp has good tension and alignment. There are no missing or loose pieces and the chain has many years of life left.
