56" Silver Long Guard Chain with Hanging Bolt Ring, Antique French Muff Chain

This is a beautiful Art Nouveau long guard chain which is intricately decorated and in excellent condition despite its age. It is getting harder to find full length long guard chains as they have often been divided with time to make smaller necklaces. Hallmarked with a boar's head on the hanging bolt ring, the chain is guaranteed to be between 800-900 silver purity. The hanging bolt ring can be used to clip a pendant or locket and the necklace is long enough to wrap two or three times over heard. A lovely example of Victorian silver work, it is in very good condition with links that are strong. The spring ring closure is losing tension and will need to be pushed closed manually but is functional and holds securely.
