56" Silver Long Guard Chain with Slide, Victorian Fancy Chain with Mistletoe Vermeil Slide

A very lovely fancy chain elevated by its accompanying mistletoe slide, this long guard chain can be worn and styled in numerous different ways. Coming in at a full length 56" it is already a great size to mix and match and can be worn wrapped multiple times around the neck. The slide can be fastened to fix the chain and add structure. I'm always excited to find full length chains as they have often been cut up to make smaller chains, but to find one with the original slide is even more special. This chain is made of high quality 800 silver and hallmarked with a boar's head, assayed by the Paris office. The bolt ring is a silver colored metal replacement which is a little tired but which holds a pendant securely once in place.The slide is also 800 silver while the little mistletoe berries are rose gold vermeil, which really adds a special touch to the piece. A great gift for any lover of antiques, or a treat for yourself.
