What a unique necklace this authentic Belle Epoque long guards is! It shines shimmy silver with every beautifully crafted link. Long guard chains are such versatile pieces which can be worn double layered and long for a nice boho look, or can even be wrapped three times overhead to give a layered choker style. Crafted between about 1860-1880, this beauty features heavy and luxurious links in a very unique design. It also features a hanging bolt ring which can be used to clip a pendant or locket. I personally like the look of the hanging bolt to give an unexpected edge which stands out from modern jewelry. This long guard is hallmarked with a boar's head, indicating at least 800 silver purity, standard for the time period. If you are looking to add a long guard chain to your collection, you can't go wrong with this beautiful piece.
