57" Victorian Silver Long Guard Chain, Antique French Belle Epoque Fancy Chain

This stunning filigree beauty was created at the beginning of the 1900s and was likely a commissioned work as it is a unique and labor intensive design. Each of the filigree interiors was hand crafted and every 16 cm a link is stamped with a silver guarantee mark. Featuring tear drop shaped fancy links, which are connected by geometric bow links, it was very obviously well cared for as it remains in excellent condition. Long guard chains become more valuable with time as they are difficult to find at their full length and, of course, as with all antiques it is difficult to find those which have had the quality to stand the test of time.

CONDITION NOTES:
Strong links which are in excellent condition. The hanging spring ring has good tension and alignment and could be used to attach a pendant or locket.
