I'm proud to bring you this stunning, one-of-a-kind Victorian long guard chain. Bearing that lovely, rich old gold patina that only comes with time, it is hallmarked with two eagle heads on the bolt ring, guaranteeing at least 18k solid gold. As the price for gold has never been higher it is getting harder and harder to find these beautiful pieces at full length as they have often been melted down or cut up with time. A solid gold chain is the staple of any antique collection and this has all of the finesse and elegance we've come to associate with French pieces in a unique construction. The gold has been twisted into arts and crafts style paperclip links punctuated by elongated navettes with interior filigree work. It boasts the inclusion of both a dog clip clasp and spring ring, which allows you to wear it in versatile ways. You can wear the closures on the side for a fresh and chic embellishment, or wear it front facing to clip a pendant or locket. It is also possible to wrap two, three, or even four times around the neck as this super long length lends itself to creativity. As the chain is lightweight for the length, it is easy to wear casually or to dress up and it mixes and matches beautifully with other chains. The links have been inspected for wear and are strong and in great condition. As with all antique pieces, it will need to be treated with care, but it remains in excellent condition and can remain the favorite in your collection for years to come.
