62" Vintage Art Deco Gold Filled Long Guard Station Chain with Paste c. 1930

Rare and unique, this long guard chain is constructed in a popular Art Deco style that saw faceted jewels inlaid into a long sautoir and called a 'station necklace'. Made of thick and high quality gold fill, faceted paste has been embedded in the chain every four centimeters to make fixed 'stations' on the chain. Between the colored, faceted glass trace chain connects the stations. The necklace closes with both a dog clip clasp and a spring ring, which can be used to clip a pendant, as pictured in photo ten. There is some light gold loss to the necklace, visible in photos, and wear to the 'gems' consistent with age. The spring ring will need to be pushed closed but is secure. Still, it remains a one-of-a-kind piece for your collection.
