Antique 1.4 ct Diamond Daisy Ring with Platinum and 18k Gold, French Antique Daisy Cluster Engagement Ring c. 1900
This sparkler is a jaw-dropping French antique daisy cluster ring which features a central old European cut diamond measuring approximately 5.82 mm across for .62 carats of weight. It is prong set and slightly elevated, surrounded by eight old European cut diamonds measuring between 2.8-3.1 mm in diameter for approximately 1.4 carats of total diamond weight.
The ring has been constructed to look like a daisy, with the prongs resembling the tips of petals. The diamonds have been set in platinum, typical of the period to reflect the light from the diamonds and make the stones appear larger. This style of ring is timeless, classic, and eminently wearable. The largest diamond I've had the pleasure of offering, it is a gorgeous ring.
CONDITION NOTES:
The ring does not have any visible signs of a resize. It is hallmarked on the band with an eagle head for 18k gold purity and with a dog head for platinum. The dog head was introduced after 1913. The diamonds are in excellent condition and shine brilliantly with no wear to the facets under magnification.
