Antique 18K Belle Epoque Floral Ring with Green, White, and Rose Gold, French Ring c. 1870
Antique 18K Belle Epoque Floral Ring with Green, White, and Rose Gold, French Ring c. 1870
Featuring a "Toi et Moi" style, this lovely rose gold ring was likely used as a wedding band or an engagement ring well over one hundred years ago. The history of the "Toi et Moi" ring dates back to the 18th century, where it gained prominence as a symbol of eternal connection and duality. The French term "Toi et Moi," meaning "You and Me," perfectly encapsulates the sentiment behind this design – two distinct elements coming together in perfect harmony, much like two souls in love. These rings were often exchanged as engagement or anniversary tokens, making them a cherished tradition amongst the romantic at heart.
The details are very special, with light engraving around the flowers and detailing to the green gold leaves that really make it come to life, just as we can expect from an antique piece. It is easily dated by the horse head hallmark, which was in use from 1838-1919, and guarantees at least 18 k gold purity. The ring is in excellent condition with just light micro-scratches to the gold but remains in excellent antique condition. It is a small and comfortable ring that can be worn every day and makes a great stackable piece. As a bonus, it is on the larger side, hard to find with antique pieces, making it accessible to those who might struggle to find antique rings that don't need to be resized.
