This lovely celestial brooch has a unique shape and beautiful details. Crafted towards the end of the Victorian era, it features rose cut diamonds set in silver, in a unique spray of stars which are framed by the gold crescent moon. Typically given for honeymoons, crescent brooches were given as bridal gifts to a newlywed couple symbolizing the start of their new journey together. Anyone who watched the Oscars this year has seen what a comeback brooches are making. They are the perfect accent to pull a piece together in an unexpected way.
CONDITION NOTES:
The brooch is in excellent antique condition with micro-scratches to the gold but the hinge works well and securely. There are no accidents to the beautiful gallery. The silver has a lovely patina of time which can be removed on request.
