Antique 18K Garnet Ring with Buttercup Setting

This charming ring has the most lovely buttercup setting and and beautiful leaf foliage shoulders which split and then come together for a straight shank. It is centered with a European flat cut garnet with a very pretty deep red hue which measures 5 mm across. The ring has been tested for at least 18k gold purity, standard for continental Europe during the time, but it is possible the hallmark has worn from use or was lost during a resizing at some point during its long history. A very pretty and unique piece that would make a fantastic stackable ring.

CONDITION NOTES:
No eye visible wear to the garnet. The ring doesn't have visible signs of re-sizing. There are light micro-scratches to the gold consistent with age and use.
