Luminous, beautifully crafted, and effortlessly chic, this engagement ring was made around 1930 during the early Art Deco period. It features one of my favorite design elements of the era, with a unique invisible setting in white metal to reflect the light of the stone. The back half of the band is crafted from 18k yellow gold, while the front half of the band has been crafted from silver. The top and bottom of the silver have been beautifully engraved with a central flower and framed by a garland. The ring is in very good condition, never resized, with micro-scratches to the gold. The sapphire is also in very good condition for age with no visible inclusions and no wear to the facets under magnification. It measures in at 5 mm across, which makes it approximately .65 carats in weight. It has a lovely silver shine that compliments the silver setting very well. It would make a lovely, historic engagement ring or as a special treat to yourself. A very special piece that carries all of the design elements that make us fall in love with antique jewelry.
