This lovely, late Victorian ring features three hand cut diamonds, prong set in a butter yellow gold band. Characteristic of old mine cut diamonds, they have a high crown, small table and a large cutlet. Diamonds were evaluated by the lapidary for the way to best bring out their beauty and each diamond was cut differently, making for a unique and singular piece. The center diamond measures approximately 4 mm x 3.5 mm x 2 mm which makes for about .18 carats. The two smaller diamonds measure approximately 3 mm x 3 mm and weigh approximately .11 carats each for a total carat weight of approximately .4 carats. The hallmark on the band has been worn with time but has been acid tested in multiple places to confirm 18K gold, which is how it was sold to me a from a reputable French auction house. It is also the French minimum standard for the time period. The ring would make a lovely engagement ring or a comfortable stacking band.

CONDITION NOTES:
The Ring is in great condition with no wear to the facets under magnification. There are micro-scratches to the gold but the prongs are well positioned to hold the diamonds in place securely.
