Antique 18K Solid Gold Etruscan Revival Earrings with Almandine Garnets c. 1870
These eye-catching antique drop earrings were crafted during the Victorian period, c. 1870. They feature a lovely detailed Etruscan Revival Design. During the mid-Victorian period jewelers were heavily influenced by Greek and Etruscan art which brought new techniques and designs which have made this a unique and sought-after period for antique jewelry collection.
The earrings are crafted from high quality 18k gold which has a buttery, rich color. Using a simple fishhook earring wire, they are easy and comfortable to wear. The drop portion is decorated with a series of lovely purplish rhodolite garnets. The earrings feature a circular frame, which is accented with decorative scroll work and a hanging pear cut garnet. The earrings move with the wearer beautifully and were created by a skilled hand so that each separate part stands on its own. They are a lovely reminder of the skill and craftsmanship of the era. Hallmarked with two eagle heads on a the fishhook, they are a solid piece for daily wear which can be dressed up or down.
