These exquisite earrings are from the Napoleon III period, circa 1860. Elegant and practical, they feature a swan neck earring back. This makes them easier to handle than many other earrings of this time period which have hinged sleepers on top. The top portion of the earrings are round with an interesting "croissant" shape. The pendant bottoms are true works of art with a teardrop frame decorated with a leaf on top and a centered with a spherical berry hanging from a a vine. There is beautiful detailing all around as the leaves are meticulously crafted and textured to give a feeling of realism. They are an excellent addition to any collection.
CONDITION NOTES:
The earrings are in excellent antique condition with light micro scratches to the gold but nothing noticeable when worn or that takes away from their charm. They are hallmarked with an eagle head on the hook of the swan neck, visible in photo ten.
