Antique Amethyst Etruscan Revival Brooch

Bursting with charm, this lovely brooch features a central amethyst paste stone in an Etruscan Revival design c. 1880. We love the over-sized, shiny paste, which is made to look like a large amethyst stone. Paste is a gemstone imitation made form leaded glass. It is softer than an amethyst stone but has been kept preciously through the years and the paste is in very good condition. Just a word of caution: antique brooches had a c curved clasp and no safety element, so just be careful when moving about. Brooches add the perfect touch of elegance to any outfit. Small but eye-catching, this is a head turning piece that is sure to become a treasured favorite in your collection.
