This elegant marquise shape Art Deco ring centers around an oval cut deep blue sapphire, surrounded by old mine cut diamonds which softly reflect the light. The ring shows lovely lattice work from the back and sides, visible in photos, which allows light to pass through and really make the gems shine. The sapphire is 6mm x 5mm and weighs approximately .5 ct. Ten diamonds in total provide a halo around the sapphire, weighing approximately 0.2 ct in total. The ring is mounted in 18K yellow gold, hallmarked with an eagle head.
Before diamonds became the standard for engagement rings, sapphires were popular as they were meant to symbolize commitment and love.
