Antique Art Deco Ruby and Diamond Cluster Pompadour Daisy Ring

This exquisite early 1900s French ring features a ruby set in a halo of ten diamonds. The ruby boasts a gorgeous raspberry hue, more pink in the sunlight, beautifully complemented by the bright, chunky glitter of the diamonds. Each diamond weighs approximately .05 carats or a total of .5 carats. The ruby measures approximately 5 x 5 x 3 mm and weighs approximately 0.6 carats.

The ring showcases a unique twist on a classic French design. Often with these pieces the diamonds were set in a white metal, such as platinum, to help reflect the light around the diamonds and enhance their brilliance. I've often found sapphire and diamond cluster rings, but it's rare to find one with a ruby, making for a unique and beautiful piece. The ring, found at a reputable estate seller in Paris, bears hallmarks for 18k gold. The ring face measures 12.5 mm by 12.5 mm, with a height of 7 mm off the finger.

CONDITION NOTES:
Typical of rubies, there are very small inclusions to the stone, visible under magnification. The ruby is in good condition with no visible wear to the facets under magnification.
