Antique Art Deco Sapphire Halo Ring c. 1910

Antique Art Deco Sapphire Halo Ring c. 1910

Luminous, beautifully crafted, and effortlessly chic, this engagement ring was made in France c. 1910. Crafted to look like a "target", a central blue sapphire stone is surrounded by rose cut diamond chips. The band of the ring is crafted from 18k yellow gold, hallmarked with an eagle head and visible in photo ten. Sapphires make an excellent alternative to diamonds for engagement rings as they are tough, ranking in at a 9 on the Moh's scale, and resistant to scratches that occur with everyday wear. The central old European cut sapphire measures about 5 mm across, for approximately .61 carats in weight. It would make a lovely, historic engagement ring or as a special treat to yourself. A very special piece that carries all of the design elements that make us fall in love with antique jewelry.

CONDITION NOTES:
The ring is on the smaller size, a size 5 US and will not be able to be re-sized up higher than a size 7 so keep this in mind when purchasing. The ring has not been visibly resized and has natural inclusions suggesting a natural sapphire stone.
