Antique Diamond and Solid 18K Yellow Gold Locket of French Origin, XIX Century

Created at the end of the 19th century, this sentimental photo locket has been a keeper of secrets for over one hundred years. Carried through the ages, it has been well loved and well worn. Crafted from high quality 18k gold with an eagle head hallmark on the inner rim, it features a central hinged glass partition, common in French lockets from the period but rare to find elsewhere. The center of the locket is delicately inlaid with an old mine cut diamond measuring approximately 2 mm in diameter. A lovely sentimental piece for a loved one or for yourself.

CONDITION NOTES:
The locket bears some marks of time, such as light dents to the front and reverse, a testament to the locket's history and use which makes it even more romantic. The locket closes well with a snap and is lightweight but not delicate. Check measurements as I've zoomed in for details but the locket itself is quite small.
