This gorgeous antique bracelet dates from the Late Victorian period, circa 1900. It features eight blue gemstones, seven of which are synthetic blue spinel, and one of which is a natural blue sapphire which measures 4 mm by 5 mm. Spinel is a hardwearing gemstone with an 8 on the Moh's scale and excellent toughness making them a strong choice for daily wear. The panel is accented by a pierced gallery and nineteen old mine cut diamond accent stones. Attached is a gold chain link which is closed with a box clasp and security bar.
CONDITION NOTES:
The box clasp is loose but this problem is solved by the security bar on top which locks everything into place very securely. There is also a security chain which 18k solid gold but attached with two split rings which are gold filled, yet part of the history of the piece. The chain would likely fit up to a medium wrist, about 6.25" around.
