This lovely Art Deco ring features a classic and timeless diamond solitaire clutched in a secure six prong setting. The twinkling old European cut diamond weighs approximately 0.75 ct. which measures approximately 6 mm in diameter. Popular from around 1890-1930, old European cut diamonds have a rounder shape than old mine cut and a smaller cutlet. They are the precursors to the modern round brilliant cut but are unique with their own charm, shape, and sparkle. The band is crafted from high quality 18k white gold and is hallmarked with an eagle head. Diamonds of the period were often set in a white metal as this was meant to enhance the brilliance of the stone. A lovely ring with that unbeatable old world charm.
