Antique French Diamond Bangle Bracelet, Belle Epoque Silver and 18K Gold Diamond Riviere Bracelet

This beautiful bangle bracelet was crafted in the late Victorian period, c. 1880. It features a line of rose cut diamonds, set in silver, with a central old mine cut diamond measuring approximately 3.5 mm across. The beautiful lace gallery adds a delicate feminine charm while the lovely rosy old gold patina stands as a testament to its long and storied history. The bangle opens with a discreet push box clasp and is doubly secured with a security chain. The bracelet is hallmarked on the interior box clasp tab with a rhino head, guaranteeing at least 18k gold purity. The silver used to set the diamonds was a style typical of the era, chosen as it helped to reflect the light from the diamonds and make them appear larger. We love antiques for their beauty and history; it is not hard to imagine that this gorgeous bangle once graced the wrist of a high society lady who would have felt at home in the most glamours ballrooms and drawing rooms.

CONDITION NOTES:
Hallmarked with an rhino head by one of the departmental assay offices. The box clasp is strong with good tension and alignment. No visible dents to the bangle. The diamonds are securely set. The spring ring is a later replacement which is gold filled, not solid gold. It has oxidized with time.

The bracelet would likely best fit a wrist around 6.0" - 6.25" inches.
