Antique French Silver Colored Metal Aesthetic Monogram Locket c. 1880

This fabulous antique locket was crafted during the aesthetic period, circa 1880. It tests as silver on an acid test, but has no hallmark, and as such is being sold as metal.  The recessed areas have been brushed with a black background. Both sides boast a captivating applied design, the front of which is in the form of an R.L. monogram, while the back features lovely openwork arabesque swirls.

Within, a singular, original metal photo frame awaits, easily removable for personalization.  Closing securely with a snap, this piece strikes the perfect balance between comfort and impact, promising to captivate admirers. CONDITION NOTES:
The locket is in excellent condition with light micro-scratches consistent with age. The closure is secure and despite the lockets age it closes with a satisfying 'click'.
