Antique French Silver Watch Chain, Victorian 800 Silver Watch Chain Necklace

Composed of 800-900 silver and hallmarked with a boar's head, this watch chain was assayed in Paris around the turn of the century. A lovely feature of the chain is the oversize bolt ring, which is a later replacement made of silver plate. The length of the chain is shorter than a modern chain but it makes a very lovely and stylish short necklace, as pictured in photos.We love the lozenge links which have a beautifully ornate filigree pattern. The chain is in excellent antique condition with silver plate loss to the replacement bolt ring, which gives it an authentic patina of time. The silver is very shiny, in excellent condition with links that are strong.
