This antique Victorian pendant locket, also known as a casolette in French, shines beautifully in the light. In person the color is a mix between deep copper and rose gold and the pendant has been hallmarked on the bail for thick and high quality gold fill. The details on the piece are amazing, with a silver leaf applique on the front and a heavily engraved reverse hatch which can be used to store a special memory or photo. There is gold loss to the bail, visible in photos, and light gold loss to the rest of the locket but it remains in excellent condition. One of the fine pearls in the applied design has been lost to time, but the front is so detailed that it is not noticeable. A lovely and unique piece that has been passed through the ages.
