Antique Guilloche Enamel Art Nouveau Acorn Pendant c. 1900

Antique Guilloche Enamel Art Nouveau Acorn Pendant c. 1900

Stylish and unique, this guilloche enameled acorn pendant has a screw top which opens to reveal a hollow interior. I've seen similar pieces which held a telescopic cigarette holder inside, so this was likely it's original purpose. The cigarette holder has been lost to time but the pendant could easily be used to store a special memento. Acorns were a common Victorian symbol, born from the phrase, "From one tiny acorn, a mighty forest grows." As  such, they represented the potential for growth, development, and the start of something significant.

CONDITION NOTES:
There is light enamel loss to the base of the acorn on one side of the pendant, visible in photos. Keep in mind enamel is essentially melted glass, so you will need to try to protect the pendant from dings and being dropped. The screw top works well and closes securely.
