Antique Red Tourmaline Unique Belle Epoque Locket

Hailing from the late Victorian period, this pretty locket is crafted from 18K solid gold and crowned in the middle with a red tourmaline. Held in place by intricate crown shaped prongs, the tourmaline lets light pass through beautifully. It is surrounded by a lovely scrolling design etched into the gold. An intricate matching bail decorates the top of the locket while a hanging natural pearl completes the design. The back opens to reveal space for a photo or special token. It is a lovely example of French Belle Epoque craftsmanship.

CONDITION NOTES:
The locket is in good condition. All of the prongs are intact and the locket close securely with a snap. There are micro-scratches to the gold, consistent with age and use, but nothing to take away from the charm of the piece.
