This meticulously worked religious medal becomes more beautiful with each detail. Signed E. DROPSY for the celebrated sculptor and medalist Emile Dropsy (1848-1923), this lovely pendant bears a halo of imitation pearls and a delicate portrait of the Virgin in profile. The reverse side is equally beautiful with a delicate lily flower, symbolic of innocence and rebirth. The reverse has not yet been engraved so it's perfect if you wish to offer the piece for a communion or baptism. The skill of the artist is evident in the intricate details of this small yet captivating portrait, achieved without the aid of modern tools. Despite its antique nature, the medal remains in excellent condition, displaying only light micro-scratches on the gold but no visible gold loss. This timeless piece promises many more years of wear, a testament to its enduring charm when treated with care.
