Antique Silver Art Nouveau Edelweiss Locket c. 1900

Opening from the top, this silver Art Nouveau round locket features a classic repousse floral design on the front and reverse. The interior has two original frames guarding photos of two solemn looking children in black and white. The edelweiss bloom carries a meaning of devotion. The symbolism of devotion comes from the growth of the edelweiss flower in some of the toughest alpine conditions in the world. It is both a beautiful locket and serves as a reminder of love and personal strength.
