Antique Silver Art Nouveau Locket c. 1890

This stunning locket is from the Art Nouveau period, circa 1890. A swirling, asymetrical floral design is visible on the front, characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. Hallmarked with a weevil, it carries an 800 solid silver purity for imported silver. The interior contains two frames and one remaining glass insert. The floral design is visible only on the front side, while the back features swirly foliage. It would look simply delightful on a long guard chain but is sure to turn heads however it is worn.

CONDITION NOTES:
The locket closes very securely with one original glass frame. The other side has the metal frame but the glass has been lost to time. There is light tarnish which we have left to help the features pop.
