Antique Silver Art Nouveau Slide Mirror Pendant with Belcher chain c. 1890

Antique Silver Art Nouveau Slide Mirror Pendant with Belcher chain c. 1890

This absolutely stunning and original slide pendant mirror is from the Art Nouveau period and dates from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Featuring a very unique octagonal shape, it is decorated with a variety of wreaths, flowers, and braids in the Art Nouveau style. Hallmarked with boar's head on the bail, it is a French piece, assayed in Paris. It features two interior mirrors which are held in place by a twisted silver removable frame. Both mirrors show only very light wear with no foxing or fogging. The Art Nouveau motif is visible on both sides with light wear to the silver consistent with age; there are some micro-scratches and very small indentations, but nothing noticeable. It comes attached to an original dainty silver belcher chain which measures approximately 70 cm/27.5 in long.

CONDITION NOTES:
The pendant is in excellent condition for age with mirrors that are in great shape and a very secure latch. There is light denting to the middle of one side of the pendant, visible in photos, but not visible when worn. The chain is in excellent condition and compliments the pendant very well.
