Antique Silver Paste Brooch, Victorian Belle Epoque French Brooch, XIX Century Jewelry

Antique Silver Paste Brooch, Victorian Belle Epoque French Brooch, XIX Century Jewelry

Bursting with charm, this lovely brooch features a central flower surrounded by a halo of old mine cut paste stones. We love the central crimped collet setting and the over-sized, shiny paste, which is mounted in silver with a closed back. With this brooch, we can see why at one time paste was considered by some to be superior even to diamonds. Nature has long been a source of inspiration for art, and this lovely design recalls the symmetrical beauty found all around us. Likely once part of a larger parure, a removable element is still visible just below the brooch pin. Just a word of caution: antique brooches had a c curved clasp and no safety element, so just be careful when moving about. Brooches add the perfect touch of elegance to any outfit. Small but eye-catching, this is a head turning piece that is sure to become a treasured favorite in your collection.
