Antique Silver Victorian Long Guard Chain

This lovely long guard chain is thick and heavy with strong links so you will not lose this beautiful heirloom piece. It features long trombone links connected by textured round links, giving a lovely contrast of long and smooth, short and textured. It is getting harder to find long guard chains which are their full length as they were often cut down to make smaller chains through time. The sautoir is hallmarked with a boar's head, guaranteeing at least 800 silver purity. It is finished with a hanging spring ring which can be used to clip a pendant or locket. It also makes the chain very versatile as it can be clipped to hold part of the chain and styled in different ways. Long enough to be wrapped once, twice, or even three times around the neck it is a great addition to any collection.
