Antique Swiss Enamel Guilloche Locket with Hand Painted Roses
Antique Swiss Enamel Guilloche Locket with Hand Painted Roses
This beautifully refined and sweet guilloche hand-painted locket is striking in every way. The intricate engine turned pattern shimmers softly in the light and is finished with small, hand painted pink roses which cascade down from a branch. The reverse is likewise beautifully decorated with a guilloche wavy pattern in a repeating circle. Set in a round, silver frame the locket closes and opens from the top very securely. The interior of the locket has a soft golden glow from the vermeil overlay. Swiss in origin, it bears the maker's mark CBE GENEVE. It is a very beautiful and unique piece that shows excellent craftsmanship of a bygone era.
