This lovely bracelet started life as a Victorian book chain necklace but was at some point cut down in size. It features fantastic diamond links which are connected by a central oval link which allows an articulated movement. The real showstoppers are the two lozenge link which feature a central half seed pearl and dramatic scrolling frame. The bracelet has a more recent lobster claw clasp closure which is in excellent condition with a strong hinge and which latches securely. As the bracelet was cut down from a longer length of chain there is no hallmark but the bracelet has been tested as 18k gold, standard for French jewelry at the time, and verified by a reputable auction house. The bracelet features the classic, rosy gold that we love in antique jewelry. As there was no standard "recipe" for alloys at this time, the amount of copper included varied and often gave a lovely rosy glow to these historic pieces.
CONDITION NOTES:
The bracelet measure 18.2 cm in length, so check the size of your wrist to verify fit. It fits me well and I have a 6.25" wrist circumference. The gold features light micro-scratches but the links are strong and in excellent condition. The closure is also secure.
