Art Deco 18K Gold Blue Topaz Flower Earrings, Antique Floral Drop Earrings

Art Deco 18K Gold Blue Topaz Flower Earrings, Antique Floral Drop Earrings

These elegant earrings were crafted around the Art Deco period, circa 1930/1940. They feature a large and clear blue topaz with a white and yellow gold halo crafted to make the earrings look like a flower. The secure latch-back closure, emblematic of the era, ensures a snug fit on the ear. The topaz, a resilient gemstone with a hardness score of 8 on the Moh's scale, comes close to the durability of sapphire. Each topaz measures approximately 8 mm x 8 mm x 5 mm giving about two carats per earring and four carats of topaz total. In person, the color is stunning and unusual. Originating from Italy, each piece is stamped with 750, signifying the purity of the 18k gold.

CONDITION NOTES:
The earrings are in excellent vintage condition with strong hinges which close securely. The facets on the stones show no visible wear under magnification without chips or scratches. There are light micro-scratches to the gold but no dents.
