Art Deco Guilloche Royal Blue Enamel Locket, Vermeil Locket c. 1920

Art Deco Guilloche Royal Blue Enamel Locket, Vermeil Locket c. 1920

Absolutely mesmerizing in person, this beautifully refined guilloche locket is striking in every way. The intricate engine turned pattern shimmers softly under blue enameling and is broken into concentric circles with a band of white enamel. The reverse is smooth for engraving or personalization with a thick layer of gold over silver. Set in a round, silver frame with gold overlay the locket closes and opens from the top very securely. Inside you can find an original photo frame with a yellow cellulose protective cover. The interior of the locket has a soft golden glow from the vermeil overlay. Likely Swiss or German in origin, it is hallmarked hallmarked 935 on the bail. It is a very beautiful and unique piece that shows excellent craftsmanship of a bygone era.

CONDITION NOTES:
Excellent antique condition. There are two remaining frame with some light interior tarnish which is visible in photos and stands as a a testament to the history of the piece. The locket closes securely with a click. There is one very small accident to the front enameling, visible on the side if you look closely. If handled with care no more damage will occur.
