We love antique jewelry for its history and uniqueness which is embodied by this Art Nouveau locket. Featuring a reed and crosshatch frame which encircles an engraved Lily of the Valley motif, it is a charming combination of many styles popular at the turn of the century. In Victorian times Lily of the Valley represented sweetness and humility, while the small seed pearls represent the tears of the Virgin. The locket is hallmarked with an eagle head, guaranteeing 18k gold purity. A lovely locket for any occasion.
CONDITION NOTES:
The locket has been well loved and well worn with numerous dents, a slightly concave face, and micro-scratches to the gold. The locket closes very well. It is a little difficult to re-open but this ensures you won't lose anything precious inside.
