Edwardian Opal, Diamond, and 18K Gold Conversion Ring c. 1900, Antique French Belle Epoque Stickpin Ring Conversion

Edwardian Opal, Diamond, and 18K Gold Conversion Ring c. 1900, Antique French Belle Epoque Stickpin Ring Conversion

This magnificent opal ring has been cleverly converted from a hatpin. Beautifully done, it features four small rose cut diamonds, set in platinum, which frame a luminous Australian opal cabochon. The opal, weighing approximately 1.4 carats, displays an enchanting array of mesmerizing colors with flashes of green, yellow, and blue. The classic October birthstone, it is also sometimes given to commemorate the 14th year of marriage.

Condition Notes:
In excellent condition, the ring has lost it's hallmark during the conversion process, but the hat pin was hallmarked with an eagle head guaranteeing at least 18k gold purity.
